Akhil Jobanputra is a Canadian-born Hindustani classical vocalist who began his training at age three at the Pandit Jasraj School of Music Foundation in Vancouver. A disciple of the legendary Pandit Jasraj, he is recognized as a rising talent in the Mewati Gharana, with influences from the Jaipur-Atrauli tradition. After a period of self-study, he pursued intensive training and currently receives taleem in khayal from Pandit Dr. Arun Dravid, in khayal and dhrupad from Pandit Arijit Mahalanabis, and guidance from Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar.
